Spring and Fall Fishing

The spring and fall transition periods are almost mirror images of each other. They occur when the water temperatures are between 62 and 75 degrees. This occurs from mid-March to Mid May and from mid-October to early December. "So book your Trip"

The best bait to catch both quality and quantity is live shrimp using a Causeway Rig.  Speckled Trout can be found in shallow water less than 6' and will be active all day. Abundant oyster Reefs of Mobile Bay and Mississippi Sound hold the fish especially during this period. And can be found by the "slicks" that they create when feeding. Drifting is the most effective technique to use.

Artificial baits- Shrimp imitations or mullet imitations such as top water baits during low-light periods.
In the Mobile Delta- root beer colored anything works great. Try tipping the artificial bait with a peace of dead shrimp.

The early spring is when trout begin their spawn. They are laden with dense roe and are very aggressive so it is the best time to catch that big one! "So book your Trip"

Redfish- They are all over the mouth of Mobile Bay and will eat almost anything! Try drifting some sort of fined fish such as a spot or croaker while casting a jig. Slot Redfish show up at the tips of all the of the barrier islands and be as aggressive as Speckle Trout. The most popular and best producers are gold spoon and live shrimp.
